Reading
I was reading Mythos by Stephen Fry, but half way through it my old 1st-generation Kindle finally died (RIP old friend). I'm now in the market for a new e-reader (preferably without vendor lock-in) if anyone has any recommendations. In the meantime I started on my backlog of graphic novels. I read Ice Cream Man Vol. 4 and 5 (recommend for fans of unsettling horror!), and I'm about half way through Invicible Compendium 1, which I'm really enjoying, even if the teenagers clearly talk like their dialogue was written by a middle-aged man pretending to be a teenager.
Playing
I've been checking out a few demos in the current Steam Next Fest. A highlight has been Iron Nest: Heavy Turret Simulator. Very cool, immersive dieselpunk game about manning a giant walking cannon set in an alternative 1920s Spain.
Work
I'm currently working at a scale up company providing holidays for people in nature. The stack is a headless Symfony backend with a React frontend.
Projects
Among the many half-baked ideas I'm mostly working on a script to automatically generate Spotify playlists based on festival line-ups. It's probably about 95% done as an MVP and I plan on making the repo public at some point in the future. I'm also considering beginning a structured data generation package for PHP, but that might have to wait until my private life is less busy.
