Imagine you own a bar with 6 beer taps...
Which beers would you have on tap?
I was drinking a Seef from the Antwerpse Brouw Companie[↗] the other day and the thought struck me that if I owned a bar I would have it permanently on tap. It's sweet, refreshing, approachable and easily drinkable - perfect as a standard beer offering.
That thought got me thinking about which other beers I would consider having on tap and if I owned a bar with 6 taps, what I would have on them.
This is the list I came up with:
- Antwerpse Brouw Companie Seef (hazy blond, 6.5%)
- Frontaal Juice Punch (NEIPA, 5.8%)
- La Trappe Nillis (Non-alcoholic, 0.0%)
- Seasonal tap 1
- Guests choice tap 2
- Hand pull for (UK) cask beers (hey, it's my dream bar, anything is possible)
It actually took me longer than I expected to choose which ones I wanted and I'm still not 100% sure about them... And also I feel like I cheated at my own challenge with two of the taps.
In any case, I tried to find a balance between beers I like and beers that customers would buy, although naturally it will swing more towards the former than the latter. And of course my choice is heavily impacted by where I live/have lived.
